About Greenfields NF Rune
Rune is out of Hiraeth Carys by Te Klein Ike and is a large two year old gelding with an in your pocket nature who loves cuddles. He’s playful and athletic and he’s got a bright future ahead of him in any discipline if given time to grow and mature before commencing work. I’d expect him to mature in the higher end of 14hh as he is currently taller than his sisters were at the same age.
Rune is by now a well socialised horse who is frequently my go to when needing to grab a companion for a horse being housed away from the main herd. He is kind and gentle with anyone and is not particularly herd bound, although being young he does refer having horses within sight line.
Rune hard ties, leads, loads and has been washed a few times and had one trip on the float. He’ll stand all day for a groom and is good for the farrier who can trim his feet with and angle grinder. Will allow you to trim his mane at liberty in the paddock in between kisses and cuddles. He’s a brave young horse if you allow him the time and space to figure things out, and I believe nurturing that side of this young gelding will give you a very confident and courageous mount in the future
As he is so young Rune will only be sold to someone with experience with young horses and the buyer must be willing to wait until he is 4 years old before breaking to saddle or doing any hard work. I would love for Rune to get a home where he gets exposed to lots of fun experiences at his tempo and we’re ideally seeking a home that wants a future performance horse and wishes to offer Rune a forever home.

We welcome vet checks on our horses, and are happy to assist in facilitating such checks. We would prefer vets selected for vet checks to be within an 80km radius of Upper Orara due to time allocation as most require us to travel the horse to them. Greenfield’s Stud has a pre-existing ongoing customer relationship with Pacific Vetcare and Equine Veterinary and Dental Services (EVDS).
