About Greenfields NF Troll

Greenfields NF Troll is a very large colt foal by Te Klein Ike out of Hiraeth Carys. He is independent, brave, inquisitive, playful and beautifully cuddly. We have several full siblings of Troll with the tallest sitting on about 14.1hh and not yet matured. Tor at birth was larger than any of them were so we are currently expecting him to grow past all his siblings and probably end up at the taller end of the 14hh range, with his father sitting on just below 15hh.

Troll has been a wonderful easy foal from day one, wanting to climb into your lap for cuddles pretty early on and brave with all new encounters. He is loving playing with the other foals of the season and is already happy to be left behind while mum comes out for vet work for breeding. He socializes well with this year’s stallion for his mum as well as the mares in the mare and foal herd.

Troll has seen the farrier twice and on the last visit he was curious about the grinder my farrier uses on the adults and we gently introduced him to it. He took to it like a duck to water and seemed to prefer it to manually rasping his feet. He will continue to see the farrier every five weeks. We have started teaching him to lead, and we will continue to do so as well as tying up, float loading and bathing throughout the summer. Troll is booked in to be gelded on 12.02.2024. He will be fully vaccinated for Tetanus/Strangles, wormed as appropriate and have had is initial doses of the Hendra vaccine prior to being available to his new home, which we expect to be approximately around 20.04.2024

It is important to us that Troll goes to a home capable of guiding him to become the best version of himself as he grows up. This includes having horse friends for him to live with, extensive turnout time to develop his mind and body and a willingness to wait until he is at least 4 years old until starting him under saddle. Most important of all is that he is loved and cherished as we already do so very much ourselves.

All horses are sold under contract developed by HorseForce. We urge you to request a copy of said contract as part of your due diligence.

We welcome vet checks on our horses, and are happy to assist in facilitating such checks. We would prefer vets selected for vet checks to be within an 80km radius of Upper Orara due to time allocation as most require us to travel the horse to them. Greenfield’s Stud has a pre-existing ongoing customer relationship with Pacific Vetcare and Equine Veterinary and Dental Services (EVDS).
