About Greenfields NF Viking
Viking is the maiden foal of Greenfields NF Quality, by Greenfields NF Lodur. He is an inquisitive loving boy with a playful and courageous nature. Viking is an instigator of mischief in his little herd of foals, but is also caring and looks after his friends as best he can. With both GNF Quality and GNF Lodur standing at 141cm or 13.3.1/2hh we would expect Viking to mature at a very similar height.
GNF Viking was born just Before midnight on 29.08.2025 and ticked his boxes in steady sucession. He has been seeing the farrier since the first week of his life. And is learning to lead currently. Viking will be taught to hard tie, float load and be introduced to baths prior to being available for collection. He will also be vaccinated for Tetanus and Strangles and will have commenced the protocol for Hendra vaccinations. We are happy for weaning to commence sometime after the first week of March 2026 and he can be made available to his new home by the end of March 2026.
Viking is looking for an owner who posess the skills to take on a young horse, or who has the network around them to ensure he is brought up in the best possible framework. Fjord horses are a hardy breed and appropriate dietary management from early on is vital to ensure a life of health and well being. We are also seeking a home that understands that waiting until he is at least four (4) years old before backing him allows for his skeletal development to be at a point where the likelihood of causing lifelong damage is significantly reduced.
All horses are sold under contract developed by HorseForce. We urge you to request a copy of said contract as part of your due diligence. A payment plan is avalable, and a record of a security interest in the Horse in the Personal Property Securities Register will be filed if he is collected prior to complete payment finishing. Alternatively he can be agisted with us amongst his peers until the payment plan has been completed. Fees and charges will apply.
We welcome vet checks on our horses, and are happy to assist in facilitating such checks. We would prefer vets selected for vet checks to be within an 80km radius of Upper Orara due to time allocation as most require us to travel the horse to them. Greenfield’s Stud has a pre-existing ongoing customer relationship with Kentaro Veterinary Services and Equine Veterinary and Dental Services (EVDS).
