About Greenfields NF Verner

GNF Verner is an absolute sweetheart colt to be gelded out of Greenfields NF Oda by Greenfields NF Lodur who would love to find himself a home that can raise a strong, curious and independent foal with confidence and solid boundaries. 

Verner was born 06.11.2025 and has been seen by the farrier from birth to ensure he’s started off on the right footing. He is learning to lead and will be taught to tie up, float load and have baths prior to leaving us. He will be gelded as soon as he completes his tetanus/strangles vaccinations in early March and is scheduled to commence weaning in May 2026, after which he will be available to his new home

We allow all our foals to live in a herd and develop social skills. Even though Verner is the youngest out of the foals in his particular herd he’s interacting with his paddock mates on the same level as the oldest in his paddock and confidently goes off to play away from his mum. We focus on handling naturally and introducing skills as they are required, and otherwise allowing them to be horses interacting with us humans for pleasure and confidently seeking us out. 

Fjords are a breed that need to be correctly managed for their dietary requirements and it is important that Verner’s new owner is willing to seek out knowledge and skills to ensure his diet is correct for his age and stage of development. Furthermore we strongly believe it is beneficial to wait until they at least reach the age of four before commencing any load bearing work to ensure they have grown into their body. We would be seeking a home that agrees with this philosophy and is looking forward to working with him in the intervening years on ground skills and in hand work to develop their ideal partner. 

All horses are sold under contract developed by HorseForce. We urge you to request a copy of said contract as part of your due diligence. A payment plan is avalable, and a record of a security interest in the Horse in the Personal Property Securities Register will be filed if he is collected prior to complete payment finishing. Alternatively he can be agisted with us amongst his peers until the payment plan has been completed. Fees and charges will apply. 

We welcome vet checks on our horses, and are happy to assist in facilitating such checks. We would prefer vets selected for vet checks to be within an 80km radius of Upper Orara due to time allocation as most require us to travel the horse to them. Greenfield’s Stud has a pre-existing ongoing customer relationship with Kentaro Veterinary Services and Equine Veterinary and Dental Services (EVDS).
