About Greenfields NF Rune
Rune is out of Hiraeth Carys by Te Klein Ike and is a beautiful rising four year old gelding with an in your pocket nature who loves cuddles. He’s playful and athletic and he’s got a bright future ahead of him in any discipline once he commences work. Expected mature height is assumed to be in the mid 14hh range.
Rune is a well socialised horse who is currently middle of the rung in a herd of predominantly mares. He is kind and gentle with anyone and is not particularly herd bound, although being young he does prefer having horses within sight line. He’s choosing his level of interaction at any given time and is just as happy to hang out on the ouskirts of the herd as he is to put himself in the middle and mutually groom and play with the ones keen for a game.
Rune hard ties, leads, loads and has been washed regularly and had one trip on the float. He’ll stand all day for a groom and is good for the farrier who can trim his feet with an angle grinder. He will allow you to trim his mane at liberty in the paddock in between kisses and cuddles. He’s a brave young horse if you allow him the time and space to figure things out, and I believe nurturing that side of this young gelding will give you a very confident and courageous mount in the future
Rune is starting to show that he wants more form life than just being a paddock ornament and is very happy to be caught and brought in for any bit of interaction he can have. I strongly believe he will be a very easy horse to start under saddle and I’m working on getting myself to a point where I can dedicate a few weeks to starting him, after which his price will go up accordingly. I would love for Rune to get a home where he gets exposed to lots of fun experiences at his tempo and we’re ideally seeking a home that wants a future performance horse and wishes to offer Rune a forever home.

We welcome vet checks on our horses, and are happy to assist in facilitating such checks. We would prefer vets selected for vet checks to be within an 80km radius of Upper Orara due to time allocation as most require us to travel the horse to them. Greenfield’s Stud has a pre-existing ongoing customer relationship with Kentaro Veterinary Services and Equine Veterinary and Dental Services (EVDS).
